Went to replace the thermostat in a 7M yesterday.

The two bolts for the housing are not top-down facing, but rather go in from the front of the motor about 4 inches from the fan/radiator.

Either way, the top bottom came out easy. The second on the first turn snapped!

I put the top bolt back in and tightened things up. For some very odd reason the housing is not leaking(yet)

Any advice for getting a very hard to reach broken bolt out?

I've put 60 miles on it so far w/o a problem but feel like i'm asking for trouble if i just continue to drive with only one bolt truely holding the housing on.

Hmm, i just found out the whole housing is seperate from the engine block itself. Perhaps removing the housing first will be the best choice in the long run.
