Welcome to the forum, hazard 14, old lift pumps or primer pumps as we call them often leak and when they leak air, the only sure way to fix them is to replace them. They are not very expensive to replace. Many aftermarket sellers sell them or genuine Toyota ones are usually stocked at dealers down under. Best of luck,

Dave

Had same problem with my 2H.
New lift pump fixed it right up!

Neve have this issue with my 2H, but few years agoo diesel leak in the premier pump .. I can change the bottom seal, and the problem was solved ( I hope permanent )

In one of your threads you mentioned that you have secondary filter before the main filter. Does this have a primer pump? Could air be leaking in before the primer pump? Maybe take the fuel line off the inlet to the pump and run it through another manual pump/ syphon to see if the problem is before the pump. At least this way you can isolate the problem a bit.

Check your fuel lines as well...there isn't much rubber, but what's there must be sound...even a small leak in the wrong place could result in air infltration and loss of suction.

thanks dogsled, all fixed short length of flex line near tank no signof fuel leak but air must leak through somewhere . replaced all now OK thanks all for input Hazard:):):):cool::cool:
