Gents,
I have just sourced an FJ80 power steering box for my Samurai build.
I need a different pitman arm, and the shorter 2WD toy pitman arm looks like it would work as per other threads on guys using it for their FJ boxes.

I am wondering if anyone has compiled a list as to what pitman arms out there will work on an FJ80, 60/62 boxes?

I know a Toy IFS pitman will work, as will a Toy truck 3rd gen [89-95] 2WD with power steering work.
Sky makes two different options.......a flat arm and one with 3/4" "less drop" than oem.

What about other makes? Chev, Ford, Dodge, Scout? Dihatshu? Do any others have splines that will work with the FJ80 ?32mm? sector shaft?

It would be nice to have a reference list as to what works and what won't.

Thanks for your thoughts.

60/70/80 series are all splined the same and inter-change, 80 series has a smaller tapered hole for the TRE than a 60 or 70 pitman arm,

70 series arm is flatter than 60 and 80 series, trail gear make a flat pitman arm for toyo's

that's the extent of my knowledge

Well thank for sharing that info, it helps.

If I can use the 80 arm, it sounds like I'll need to buy the FJ80 tapered reamer to make it work for an 80 tie rod end. If I but the Trail Gear flat arm, it's already got the correct hole for the 80 tie rod end, but it more spendy and it is still a long arm [ compared to the 2wd toy arm ].

I *think* the 2wd toy arm also has the FJ80 tapered hole in it......anyone know for sure?

Nissan or any other possible options? any one know?

I think I recently discovered that an Isuzu Trooper pitman arm would fit a Hilux (minitruck?) steering box. Not 100% on that--I was looking for a pitman arm for an Isuzu box on eBay.AU and found one that said it fit Trooper or Hilux, so.... Certainly the tapered splines on the Trooper box I had on hand looked very similar to the tapered splines on the Hilux box I also had on hand. At the time I didn't care enough to actually prove it one way or another, though.

I now have a Toy 2wd pitman arm, and it will fit the sector splines of the FJ80 / 60 /62 box after I grind in two more splines. There are two flat spots on the pitman, where the spline groove is absent. The FJ sector doesn't have these flat spots. I *could* grind down two sector shaft spline humps on the box, but would rather mod the pitman arm. And yes, the tapered hole fits an FJ80 TRE perfectly as is.
