Safety chains on the bumper shackles work fine. No binding.

I did the same with my safety chains. A couple of links shorter and I'd be in trouble, but as it is, they work just fine. I put my spare underneath the front of the frame.

My chains are 12" forward of the stock location.

Did you use a Cruiser tire winch?

The only thing I don't like about where my spare is is that it makes the tongue heavier to pick up and move.

I think if I put my Jerry cans in the rear it will balance it out though.

That may be moot as if I load for camping it I will likely not unload it much thus making "un-camping" much easier

Used the old spare tire mount from wife's Grand Wagoneer. Simple hinge bar type.

I wasn't sure about highway speeds with unknown bearings and the "maypops" so I opted for back roads. Sort of pick your poison- this thing is LIGHT without a load and jumps off the road at every bump. I think I set a record for holding my breath. But, it pulls quietly and effortlessly. I love it already. Tear down and rebuild forthcoming. Thanks Nolen (and Andy).

P.s. Nolen if my wife ever thanks you for "basically giving me one of your old farm trailers you didn't need" (i.e. My story) just nod and play along :)

8 years ago I had a real nice one of these

Canadian 101. Just a hair bigger than the M416

Took it on a trailride in North Carolina with the Kaderabeks and Greg T and swore I would never ever tow a trailer on the rocks again if God would get me off that trail in one piece

This was the Ramble in 2007

I am going to be able to use these LEDs in my blackout housings. They shine fine through these thick lenses.

I'm going to take the 60 and the trailer to Rob to wire both.

I had to cut out the trailer harness on the 60 when I was installing the bumper due to a short.

He will do a better job than me.....

My 60 lacks a wiring harness too, and I will need one for my new M416 :)

So, Rob will get to do that job twice although I have a couple of other small electrical gremlins for him to fix too while he's got it.

In the 60 tech section, there's s thread about an almost plug 'n play trailer harness. Y'all may already be wired (or not mind splicing into factory wires), but here's the thread...

Yeah but I wonder what the total load capacity is on that truck? Truck and trailer? 21,000? 26,000?

Bossman??

I got my trailer back from Rob.

He spent the extra time I asked really making the wiring clean.

The little LEDs worked great in the blackout tail housings and he used the factory wiring locations throughout.

Great work. I'm very happy with his attention to detail.
