bingo....you already have the unit just get Jrob to engineer the front for you.

This sounds so wrong....
Been on the road way to long this trip!!!!

Looks like a FEDEX CUSTOM CRITICAL truck.

It was an expeditor truck but not for FedEx. You see them on eBay and CL once in a while. I think it will work for us but time will tell.

Dibs as a second vehicle on this thing for the trip to California!

White Trash of the Elwood Chapter, TORC4x4.org, Cottonland Cruisers.

Thanks guys. Keep your eyes open for a 14-16' flatbed!

You and them damn trailers! Hell, trucks for that matter. Haven't we come full circle since I met you? Red truck and now this?

I agree. I think this one is like comparing an FJ-40 (this one) to a Jeep with Dana 30's (red one)

But the trailer deal....what's wrong with that cool one you got with drive over fenders

Sorry guyz... I guess I wasn't too clear. I'm not looking for a trailer and there is nothing wrong with the "cool" one with the drive over fenders.

I am looking for a 14-16' Flatbed to put on thie truck when the box comes off. When I want to bring just one rig to an event it will ride on the flatbed on this truck and I wont be pulling a trailer at all. When I want to bring two rigs I will bumper pull said "cool" trailer behind this rig, etc. Sorry if that wasn't clear;(

I would have never sold the red Freightliner if it had this sleeper on it. That was a great truck and had less than 60k miles on it when I sold it. This one has many, many times those miles but should hold up for years under this kind if duty.

Well, I guess it's never going to stop raining so that I can get an updated pic but here is one of the sellers pics of the tow rig I just picked up. It's got a Gozollion miles on it and a fair number if bumps and bruises but it made the 500 mile trip home without incident. Plan is to remove the box and shorten the frame for a 14-16' flat bed with provisions to haul either a second rig with a bumper pull(along with one on the flatbed) or a Gooseneck for those times when two rigs just aren't enough;)

It's a 2000 Freightliner FL80 with the Cummins 8.3 and a six speed. The sleeper is a 72" double bunk and currently has a fridge and microwave. Plan to add a tv/dvd and a port-a-potty so that I can register it as an RV. Still gotta figure out how to A/C the sleeper for comfort in the summer.....Jrob???

Hot damn...leave that box! I need somebody to draft behind!! Do you want a big ole wing for the top?

I was planning to tuck in behind yours and admire the artwork all the way there!

Nolen- I want to shorten the frame by 4-6 feet and create the option to haul a Gooseneck at the same time. I don't need the box so it's just extra weight and wind drag. Besides, my father in law has already laid claim to it to put all our woodworking stuff into. ;)

How big is that box?

Box is 20'. It's a trade off for sure. Box on = ability to haul more "stuff", safer from theves, place to put up cots in foul weather, etc. Would lose the GN option, add weight, increase turn radius of trailer(swing) due to longer truck bed behind axle, etc.

Awesome find, Daryl! I'll start looking for a flatbed. And do let us know when it's time to witness some BossManFab demonstrations

Reviews say not good below 40 degrees. I may have spotted you a flatbed. I'll look at it tomorrow.
