AndyO,

You need to find one of the following 1/4 ton trailers:
M100
M416
M101 CANADIAN

There were civilian versions of the M100 called the Bantam, but are very rare.

Am I missing any?

Nope. That's it. The 101 3/4 ton can be made to be around 1000# dry but that's still nutty heavy.

I may get one if I can find a $500 model and lighten it. They are so much bang for the buck but too big to be Expo trailer for me.

Look at the newer aluminum replacement. Can't remember the designator but they are seriously nice and snout 1200lbs if I remember correctly

M1102

M1102

They are about $1400-1800 new. Crazy knowing the .gov likely paid $30,000

As wide as a HMMWV though...fat :pig:
Not a replacement for the M416 series but better than the ones Nolen is talking about. The 101's and 105's are designed to tow behind 2.5 & 5 ton trucks.

Yup saw those being pulled by a line of hummers last weekend and they are wide. It would be a good size to build up as a stand alone camper without a RTT. Could fit a bed and space for gear under the tarp. Not ideal for tight trails but could be a base camp.

$25 is the high bid now. One went for $550 on that website in May so not sure. It has a few more days so will watch it. It is north of Nashville so would have to figure out how to get it here if it goes low enough.

Yeah what I really meant was how do I get it by the Tuesday pickup deadline. I'll worry about that if it is still cheap tomorrow.

Its about an hour North of my office. I might be able to pick it up and park it at the farm til you can work out the rest. I'd think the 4runner could handle it unloaded. Let me double check my calendar and make sure I don't have anything going on Tuesday after work.

Thanks @jynx. I'll let you know what happens with the auction.

The more I look into the M1101 it looks like it will be too big, high and heavy for what I really want. I really like the ability to move the M416 around by hand and I don't think that would happen with the biggin. If were going to use it for wide dirt roads or trails and had a big rig, it could be transformed into a cool teardrop type camper for cheap.

It is up to $360 but still may turn out to be a good deal if someone is interested in it.

That is a sweet trailer and a good looking 4Runner too.

Thanks for mentioning that page. I didn't know that existed.
