I would think more people would be excited about a Tundra with a TOYOTA diesel. I'm sure the Cummins is as durable, but is it as reliable (two different things)?

I like Toyota diesels too but what is not reliable with the Cummins diesel? I've got over 196k on mine and its still like new. Some minor transmission problems, and bad lift pump but absolutely nothing in 14 years on the motor...
If the tundra brought over its big boy diesel it would dominate the market.
Just my 2 cents for what its worth.
Yeah the cummins diesels are pretty reliable. I put 200k on the 2 99's I had and have 130k on the one I'm in now. They will all have some sort of problem sooner or later.
Any recommendations for a good trailer tire? I'll have to check the size on my metal deck car hauler...
I believe the current tires I have are "trailer king", which came with the trailer when I bought it . Recently had one of the trailer tires explode, with probally less than 5K miles.
Trailer is a dual axle metal deck car hauler type rated at 10.5K, brakes on both axles, bumper pull. I'm guessing I'm about 9.5 to 10K (trailer + 60 + crap). Trailer axles are 6 lug 5.25K or something close (I would have to look that up).
edit on the above info..
Trailer Tires that came with the trailer are Power King brand, model is Tow Max ST, Size is 225-75-R15, 8 Ply Load Range D.
Before I buy any new tires or whatever... I may consider going to a 8 lug axle with e rated 16inch tires.
It's a lot of $ to "upgrade" the axles. You better off replacing it with a new trailer.
