I towed a trailer for the first time with my 94 LC and after driving about 20 miles I noticed the electrical check engine light on the dash came up. Even after I took the trailer off the light is still there. Does anyone know what this could be? Is it possible I damaged some electrical component in the truck? A friend who does not own a LC says that most trucks have a tow switch and the switch should be on when towing. Is there such a switch in the LC…? And if this is the case where is it located? Thanks anyone

Tow switch just changes the shift patterns in the tranny, I believe.

You might have a "power" switch for your tranny, which moves the shift points higher in the rpms.

I tow all the time and the only time I got a check engine light was due to a bad O2 sensor.

What is the code of your check engine light?
