I was wondering about those numbers. I need a truck like yours :D

You might be a little heavier.

Dads gmc. The land cruiser, 4 wheeler, trailer, and gear with me weight in at 16,865 lbs. that's without a camper. You have to weight a bit more than 10. I know the 62 is heavier than the 40, but still.

I wasn't counting the F250.....just the trailer and the 40.

Ahh ok. That's better. :)

Not bad at all thought the camper and trailer would be more Scott can handle that :)

speaking of weight, yesterday i hauled off a bunch of scrap and got wieghted on my way in(full) and on my way out(empty).

went in @ 10840
came out @ 6840

so its not certified but my tow rig w/trailer weighs in at 6840.

Not bad bud :) your truck would probably put you back in the 10K range nothing for that 7.3 :)

The wife's Uncle traded a better Tundra for a eco crew-cab 4WD and is very pleased with the power and mileage, other than his 4-Wheeler he doesn't tow anything to speak of so the Tundra was over kill. I told him the Taco is all he'd needed :) You looking to get rid of the DuraMax?

There is a thread over on pirate that talks about those, I didn't pay much attention to it though, so I can't remember what they said.

ya may wanna do the math larry. I know both our rigs are heavy. Trailer weights 8450 +6000lb rig . = 500 lbs more than trailer can handle.... Plus only 18' of deck space... Might be tight...

Thats a good point Cody, not sure this one is the right one for me I was more going to look at it with interest in looking and talking to the guy to see how he put it together. Also getting an idea on camper lengths that's about what I need 19 - 21FT Max. I'm not a fan of the way the bottom looks to be fitted to the trailer on this one. I'd be interested in having the trailer made with the front section open to lower the camper down on steel beams and running the plumbing for the holding tanks sewer and grey water under the trailer as well.

Yeah. I saw johns post and sent it to dad. Then read more in it. Those trailers (down2earth) are made in Georgia. I agree that it looks out of place. Plus 18' is tight I think. And it's too heavy or not heavy enough, how ever you look at it. :)

well the reason it`t that way is if ya pull with a pk bed ya have to have the praying mantis goose neck trailer
the only way to keep the camper low & over the bed is with a slide in .
also total trailer GVW should not exceed 14000 lb ya put full water tank gear and a 5-6 K rig ya gona B way over plus way too heavy for a 3/4 - 1 ton single wheel & pushing a HD 1ton dually.

your GVAW is total rig truck trailer & payload.

Just gonna sell my truck and by an buy a smaller car.

...and look for one of these...

that will work!

but cc would b better

Heck. Just find one of those set up as a moving van, Do a custom interior with bed over cab, and Bam. still get a regular trailer, and tow rig, and house....

Thanks
