Made a mistake. The 7.3 redlines at 3400 not 3000 so he still does have some breathing room.

regardless, you should talk about how your thinking about getting one. I've been trying to talk dad into getting one that looks SUPER on his HD.
Road Armor Front Stealth Winch Bumper
One along those lines..
Since he's getting a company Tahoe, he talked about a "lift" on the HD.![]()
That's a nice looking bumper but I bet they're proud of them too. When we were up in Wyoming the Dodge 3/4 and 1 Tons were a daily fixture working ranches and pulling horse trailers for the rodeo season. The ranch bumpers were starting to grow on me. I guess they need them more out there with those crazy pronghorns darting across the roads kinda makes you nervous pulling a load waiting for one to run out in front of you. I like the fact the ranch bumpers provide a lot of protection especially for the grille area.
I'd steer him away from a lift especially with the IFS and more towards a leveling kits when you start adding the lifts and larger tires you toss your mpg's right out the window which in most cases is the reason for going with diesel for the towing and hauling. My brother in law has the same truck with a leveling kit and 315's and it looks nice. You have the cruisers for the lift tires and offroad useI have to say I was glad to have the 4WD option on the trip out West I got in a bind trying to turn around on the side of a MTN in Estes Park with the camper in loose gravel and dirt and without the 4WD I wouldn't have made it out. We also hit snowy ice conditions where it was safer to run in 4 Hi then take a chance on skidding around.

Picked her up today......lots to do to get her to where I want her but what a great platform to start from. No pics of the interior yet......most of it will be gutted anyway.
