Sad state for the country. This swift stuff. Amzing it happened right before the nfl season. They will probably get married as a superbowl halftime show. Growing up in the south with 3 tv channels (no cable or satellite available), we never watched tv really and especially not NFL. I don't watch tv now and never really nfl. I always thought nfl was designed for the cold weather states where there is nothing to do outside in the winter and everyone picks a team freaks out weekly. I join all work calls in the fall 5 minutes late. The first 5 minutes is all nfl chatter. The northern folks are all over it and I have no idea and could care less about what they are talking about. I am not against nfl, I just do not participate. I can not imagine spending hours inside on beautiful days to watch tv of any kind. Sorry got carried away on my nfl work rant and the swift bs is just fuel on the fire.

The amount of air time wasted on this engagement is insane.

I am just gonna say this - The amount of time SEC fans spend talking about college football per capita FAR outweighs the time my family spends talking/watching the Chiefs - and that doesn't even cover the time "wasted" on crappy NFL teams in the South like the Dolphins, Falcons, Panthers and Jaguars LOL. So - - I don't think this is a "Yankee" pastime only - you should pass the blame to your Southern neighbors too

I agree however all my co workers are up north and only talk about nfl. It amazes how much time is wasted on sports period. All sports. I know waste time on land cruisers, mountain bikes and efoiling but damn that chits important (to me). Ha.
