I have a 78 fj40 and I took off the intake and exhaust manifolds.
1.What should the bolts mounting the intake and exhaust manifold be torqued too?
2. What should the exhaust pipe mount and egr mount studs be torqued too?
3. What should the three bolts that holds down the intake manifold into the exhaust manifold?

Specs informally include both, cleanliness (threads are chased if corroded or marred because little dents and metallic oxides significantly increases torsional friction), and the use of lubricant / anti-seize. There is one manufacture of anti-seize that came up the other day in the forum, and they suggested lowering the torque specs, and anti-seize greatly reduces thread friction. I question whether or not you should lower the torque specs just because you 'leveled the playing field' by using anti-seize.
