I'm just finishing up today. Does anyone have the torque specs for the two torque arm bolts on each T-bar, as well as the lower shock mounting bolts? I was using 51 ft. lbs. for the front shocks and and 47 ft. lbs. for the rear, but those are specs for the 80 Series. I don't yet have the FSM for the 100 (I know, I know!).

TIA,

Not sure if I am looking at he same thing but here goes:
torque Arm 166 ft-lbf on the nuts (the picture shows two bolts with nuts attaching torque arm to lower suspension arm)

Lower shock 100ft-Lbf on the nut (Picture show one bolt with nut, going through lower suspension arm and lower end of shock)

Nut at top of shock tower 50ft-Lbf

This is from 2001 TLC FSM

Hope that helps

Damn, I was way off! They're Bilsteins. Thanks for the info!

Your welcome.
Plz post back here on how you feel about the Bilsteins after your first good drive.
I am concerdering a set for my TLC.

Just did near 1000 miles over the holiday. The Bilsteins were a definite improvement. I only had the fronts mounted (and obviously with the wrong torque values!) but there were noticeable improvements in handling, steering response, and sway (or lack thereof). Much less brake dive as well. All as was expected of these premium shocks. If you're doing no or minimal lift, these are the shocks to get IMHO.

Thinking of taking on installation of an OME suspension. Found this thread on torque settings. Anyone knowing the 2001 torque specs are the same for 2006? If not, does anyone have the torque specs for shocks and torque arm?

Thanks!
I would think so, since the big change was not until the 200 series in 2008. Hopefully someone will check a 2006 FSM and confirm.

Thanks. I was hoping someone with a FSM wouldn't mind doing that. I called a Toyota dealer in the nearest town and they do not sell the FSM (they said it was all online now). Slee, where I purchased the suspension) put me onto a tech website but it looks like (have to look at it closer) you have to have a subscription. Figured that was what the dealer was referring too.

It's been awhile since I went oline for a FSM, but I think you can buy a 24hr pass. If you look real hard you may find the online FSM posted for free.

Found this on Ebay today.

Thanks. Haven't seen a FSM. Is this the same as a FSM? If so, is $240 a reasonable price?
$240 is a good price, I bought the two volumes 10 years ago at dealer plus one more book for transmission total cost $350, that was with a 20% discount. Offer the ebey seller $200 and see what happens.

Just curious, but how did you get your torque wrench onto the shock top nut? Mine with a standard socket would not squeeze onto the nut because it kept hitting before I could get onto the nut. Would love to hear how to get around this, as I ended up tightening down until it "felt" about right.
Thanks.
