replacing Hub flanges as there is a bit of a clunk N to D with a bit of rotational play drivers side hub. Cone washers were an absolute nightmare until a trip to HF for a compressor and air hammer … $300 on day 1 could have saved 3 very frustrating days (parts thereof).

Question: Should there be this much play before tightening up? There is no movement after flange replacement and tightening.

that does seem like an excessive amount of play to me. but as long as the splines look good on the axles themselves, you should be ok with the new drive flanges.
but you should get a couple more opinions here on 'mud

You certainly need to grease the spindle needle bearings. That much play tells me there isn't much grease in there.

Thanks Chaps … went ahead and ordered new bearings from Impex … calling it preventative maintenance if not absolutely required.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the traditional wheel bearings that go on the hub and hold the rotor in place, but the spindle needle bearings that are inside the hub (90364-33011). They are pretty hardy. I replaced mine out of abundance of caution when I also found the grease in my bearings to be lacking, but I honestly could have gotten away with just greasing them. Someone makes an expensive tool to do it, but many of use use the 1.5"PVC cap method.

Thanks for the clarification Bisho, will check it out and wheel bearings for a simple regrease… keep the on order wheel bearings for the future then. Appreciated

Just to be clear, there's no load on the bearing preload nut in your video? Without any preload, I'd expect all kinds of wobble, since there's nothign to keep the cone seated in the cup. Hand tight preload there shouldn't be any.

His wobble is the cv shaft, which is not impacted at all by the bearings, nuts, etc.

If you say so
