I have this "potential" opportunity to purchase a Used 2003 Land Cruiser from someone in London, England. It "appears" to be a great deal and the seller has stated that the vehicle was purchased in the US and shipped to England. The seller also states that when they brought the car to England, the import and register taxes were so high, they are forced to sell it. They "say" they have the title but will not show me it (via email or photocopy for their protection) until I purchase the car. It is in carfax.com. The seller also states that
they cannot sell it in Europe because it is US street legal noting that "european people do
not like US street legal vehicles."
I am not experienced in any way with a transaction of this kind and would like to know how to protect myself in every way (from "cradle to grave") if I were to pursue this opportunity.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of transaction? My gutt say this one has "fraud" written all over it....................
