99 Land Cruiser here.

A few weeks ago I noticed a lot of heat radiating from under my seats. The plastic on the drivers side near the door and also on the passenger side are hot to the touch. You can hardly keep you hand on them.

I feel heat radiating up along the side of the seat and the passengers can't put their feet down near the bottom of the seat on both sides because of the heat.

There is no heat coming from the actual seat. I thought maybe my heated seats were malfunctioning so I pulled that fuse, but the issue is still there. I'm wondering if it's the power seat malfunctioning/shorting but I believe that fuse is tied into some other systems.

I looked under the vehicle and it seems like one of the few spots in the undercarriage that is empty. The floor seems a bit hot, but it's mostly the seat.

Before I start pulling things apart more, thought I'd throw this issue to the group. Thanks for any feedback/help.

Is your rear heat on with the carpet blocking the vents near the floor by the center console?
Bingo! Thanks @awesomeissquid!!!

Great to have this forum to share an issue and have someone point out the obvious. I'm not being sarcastic. I never considered the heater, but I recently put the third row back in and the kids have been sitting back there and of course messed with the rear climate. Thank you.

Glad it worked out! This forum really is fantastic and makes figuring these trucks out pretty easy.

Wow, that was easy.

If it makes you feel any better for looking over something simple- once I thought my SC400 had severe idling issues because I had a floormat hung up on the throttle pedal after cleaning the car. I think I even made a post about it on Club Lexus.
