Swapped my front end,now I have 4.11 in the front and rear, tie rods have been rebuilt,steering is nice and tite,choke adjusted, still have to find a vac. Adv dist. What was sold to me as vac. Adv. Was vac. Retard, (sigh) time to resume the search.

Thanks Al,but I think where I've been screwing up is trying to find a dist. for a 74 fj40,but my engine is a 69 f , I guess somewhere right about there Toyota went from a vac. adv. To vac.retard, its almost harder to find a distributor than to find an upper wiper motor.
Maybe if I come over and install it for you- won't an "advance" unit turn into a "retard" unit if I touch it ??....
