They all come from the same factory in China. Only way around that is with an OEM Toyota snorkel.

Give the guys at torfab a call I think they have some insight on both. Or just ask the slee fellas they'll lead you right

This.
literally paying extra for a logo...
i just picked up the recommended "knock off" on amazon for $85 shipped LMAO! and it is identical in every single way to the safari that my pops has on his in south america...everything from material thickness to the fasteners...the only thing thats worthless is the template, but hey saving $300 is good enough for me to measure reallyyyyyyyy well

all you're paying for with those big brands is the development costs that it costed them to design the product until they are in the black on that particular product project, then its just great big profits for them...

When I got mine they were still advertised as made in australia. That may have changed but their site still claims:
  • Completely Australian designed and manufactured

The page looks like its updated as of 2014

Arb snorkel or safari snorkel are the best ones I'm with you mate I wouldn't buy cheap Chinese crap either

Don't waste your money. My 59 amazon special actually had better hardware then the ironman I didn't install and sold a few months ago. Granted the template was a bit lacking but for 300.i can scratch my head a bit and drink enough fat tire too correct that !!! This from a guy who loves all things Slee....

But if you need to adhere to a line ....

I'm actually very surprised that so many are so quick to say fxxx it, it's the same s*** so why am I paying for a logo. This way of thinking is utterly flawed and it's why all of you deserve the cheap chinese drywall, baby formula and every other pile of s*** that comes out of China. Please keep trying to save your dollar.

ARB developed this thing, did the research, made the prototypes, poured tons of money into perfecting, patenting, promoting for each vehicle. Then some cock sucker in China gets his hands on one and copies it. Then stupid Americans are all too eager to snap it up without any regard to the guys that have to develop this stuff because...fxxx it, it's the same thing and it's just a logo. Well it's not the same thing. The plastic is absolutely different regardless to what some have said. I have seen with my own eyes snorkels that have degraded over the years because of the plastic used. "Oh well I can buy another Chinese knock off and replace it once a year for the price...."

Blah blah blah, flawed logic. So go right on ahead and keep buying cheap chinese knockoffs and soon we can all enjoy oil seals made in Shanghai because it's cheaper. V-belts made in Shenzhen because it's cheaper and it's good enough for Toyota to say fxxx it, it's what the Americans want. Oh they say they want to spend the money on a 70 series for America. Yeah guess what, no you don't. You don't want to pay.

I come from the product development world. I've watched as my company spends 2.5 years and $11M developing products for the film industry only to turn around and realize two months later there is a Chinese knock off. Is it the same, nope. Is it kinda close, sure. Does it have all the bells and whistles and know how and firmware and software to run it. Nope but they can sure fake it and sell it for a third of what we were.

It's just a logo. They are all made in the same factory. They are the same thing...

No. No they aren't and you are just plain wrong. But enjoy that extra money in your pocket and keep buying Made in China because they need the jobs too.

Enjoy.

Well said

Everyone has good points, yes they are knock off but businesses also need to realize they need to compete. A piece of plastic should not cost 500 after all these years.....can someone print one already? It doesn't have anything fancy like firmware and software to run it.
