Is there a place that a person could send recomendation on what to have in the TLCA, WebStore for sale? This is ultimately to increase merchandise sales for TLCA.

My wife was looking through the online store for a holiday gift and noticed the coffee mug and road sign were not offered with FJ 40's or FJ45's on them. Just minitrucks.

She asked me about it and I checked out the site.

I found a few oportunities as well. When the T-Shirts Tab is selected. The TLCA FJ55, TLCA FJ60, TLCA FJ80 shirts are priced at $5.00 and the rest are $15.00. Is this a Typo? Could the FJ 40, FJ45's be added as well?

If this has already been discussed, I could not find it. Sorry if this is a repost.

Anyone can send requests in for merchandise ideas. Please send them to msvp@tlca.org.

I'll check into the pricing on the mugs (err shirts) and see if that is a typo.

I bet those are the 80 series shirt that has a 100 series on it and thats why they are discounted. Don't know for sure.

there was, at one point, several items that were overstocked, and price was reduced to move them out to make room for new, fresh stuff. that, of course, is if i remember correctly, been a week or two since then.....

merchandise

guys i've personally been involved with the tlca merchandise for 4 years. as romer said the 80 shirts actually show a 100. the price was reduced before Christmas 2007 to move them... we still have some of all the model shirts in stock.

at one point we had signs with 40's on them, I have one of the last ones hanging on my garage. we had mugs with 40's also at one point

we have tried many new items in the last two years, gloves, fleece jackets, first aid kits, and tool bags to name a few. we sell a few then discount the rest to get rid of them. there are many other folks on mud selling shirts and other lc items so it becomes not so much a money maker. with the new tlca bod starting in january we will be looking at fresh merchandise to sell, so please continue to check back to the site. I would guess that most items will be tlca branded...

Not a typo - clearance priced to move 'em out. There's a bunch of stuff we need to re-stock, like mugs, signs and Who Needs a Road book to name a few. As Casey mentioned, we've had more than a few problems with merchandise over the years. Problems with the store, problems with fulfillment, problems with having the right merchandise, problems with being out of stuff. Last I checked a week or so ago, I couldn't figure out how to order back issues of Trails. I'll be communicating with Mark Van Meter shortly.

This is an area we at TLCA will be addressing mindfully going forward.

Happy cruisin', happy Solstice and Merry Christmas!

and we used to have LC mugs and signs but as noted, they sold out and I think we were just getting rid of old stuff.

The 100 series on the 80 shirt? Ya, you can thank me that bonehead move. :) However, folks cried and cried for 55 shirts and 60 shirts, and then very few actually sold. but you know that story, over and over again.

My personal favorite, the pocket Tees. We used to sell just standard shirt with logo as big bulls eye on the belly... Put the logo on the back, and a pocket on front for me! I'll take credit for that effort.

However, I really do like my TLCA tool bag. That puppy is cool.

Just tossing out some ideas here...

I'm curious as to how many chapters have their logo made into a patch. I think it would be nice to have a TLCA patch to sew on a jacket (Carhart style) and then we could also offer up TLCA member patches each year, club logo patches, event patches, etc...kind of an old school idea, but it might work. Maybe a special patch for folks that contribute to Toyota Trails? Or BOD service?

Thoughts?

We have Rising Sun patches. We also had custom jackets made, with member's names on them. I think we've done more merchandise just in Rising Sun than TLCA has over the last couple years.

I think Beanies would be a good idea also. If you guys dont have a good source for shifts, I have a good contact that can do just about anything with a shirt or hat. He has done all our club shirts, hats, hoodies, beanies. Let me know if I can help

Beanies, huh? Got a color scheme/ logo in mind?

How about offering T-Shirts or other SWAG on line for any TLCA sponsored event?

An example is Cuise Moab shirts. People can order them from the TLCA On-Line store even if they are unable to attend. Rising Sun could have extras made and sell them to the TLCA for cost plus shipping. The TLCA would add thier margin and sell them on-line.

Most events do this. Buy it in person at the event $15.00. After the Event/On-Line $20.00 plus shipping while supplies last.

Most people can take the $20.00 plus shipping for a T-Shirt but many cannot handle the $130 entry fee plus the travel expenses, plus time off work, etc.

Just a thought.

We have discussed this within the board of directors off and on the last 6 months or so IIRC, and I think it's a great idea. We have no shortage of good ideas. What we need are people to roll up their sleeves and spend their personal time to get the work done.

We have a priority list of given X amount of time each day/week/month, what is critical, what is high, and what is just really good. We have executed a large fraction of the critical over the last couple months, except for the members-only section of the web site, which is still in progress. We are working the high priority and just really good ideas in parallel.

We are keeping a lot of balls in the air right now and doing the work as fast as we can.

Happy cruisin'!
