Not a cruiser, but somewhat interesting. This car has the OM606 diesel, which has a great reputation. Too bad it's the year before they added a turbo. Good engine for diesel swap, or *just* fix and drive.

call it my way of dealing with the deep black despair at missing out on a fairly clean 83 bj42 in freaking chemainus of all places.

so deep and black was it, I had to share it with cam. I try to console myself with the thought that maybe it had a rotten frame.



But yeah, we'll see. Doubt anything will come of it, but what the hell. It's just sitting in the back 40 under a tree, and I'm bored...:lol:

A sad time indeed. If whoever bought that tries to join the club I'm going protest by chasing him or her off with a salt water cruiser destroying blasting device.

I wish this were less of an understatement....but with the systematic depopulation of all the good cruisers from the island (and bc for that matter) by the shysters and the slavering yanks, this one may well have been the last unicorn.

1KZTE 3.0 turbo diesel I believe. Powerful little motors with a lot of potential. Will last a long time if taken care of. If not taken care of or driven right the heads can crack. That is a pretty cool van actually. I'd rather have that then a Westy. Price is a little more than I'd pay though (if I was in the market for a van). Would rather stick with a cruiser/travel trailer.
 
This sounds like it has good low rust potential....could be the perfect starting point for a 60 build. Swap a diesel manual drive train into it and could be a nice rig...
