2WD and it's a beat work truck... but for $1500 worth it for parts I guess.

As it turns out it's just dented/scratched/etc. No rust and drive train's in great shape. But dents and imperfections can turn a lot of people off. 2wd saves weight and maintenance. 4x4 not always needed. Definitely not just a 'parts' truck IMO. Compare to a Tacoma with rusty frame with 350,000km for $10k+ for example.... I know which one I'd pick.

So for more than 50X the money!

I know the truck well, I'm not knocking it by any means, for $1500.00 why not. I like dents from 200lb guys running over the hood and roof. Time is money.

Fair enough. Different folks, different strokes.

Ambulance is basically a truck? Truck frame and drivetrain at least.
Fair enough... not worth nitpicking the differences. Certainly a solid frame comparable to many truck frames. Although I’d gladly choose a truck engine bay over its a van’s any day of the week. It’s about as convenient as working on the engine in a cruiser without opening the hood... but instead accessing it by removing the front grill. ;) while at the same time an engine 2 sizes larger than the engine bay was designed to fit was stuffed in.

Toyota gets full points for design and planning... Ford gets zero. I’ve really only worked on old Toyotas as our newer one has hardly needed any mechanical work in 12 years and 100k miles.

The one thing the van body does have going for it is that it turns sharp enough that I can parallel park it in a spot 2’ longer than it. That and a 7.3 Diesel... although somewhat detuned, it halls around a 9500 lb rig like it’s nothing.

Sweet Mercedes!!!

He is asking 23k

Oh My! What happened to the days when these could be bought for more like $2,300?

'merican market has made things so ridiculous. But even with that, I think this Prado is fiercely overpriced. Something like $10k would be more reasonable.

Cheap 80 in Duncan. Can those of you not on facebook still open these links ok or not?

I probably could if I whored out my morals, bowed to the man and voluntarily gave up all semblance of privacy while plugging the disinformation nozzle straight into the waiting data port in my temple.

I don't really want an 80 tho, so I'll just avoid that link like I would a fresh dog turd on my lawn.

:flipoff2:

Fair enough. I don't think you need to actually be a facebook user to open the ad though...?

I dislike facebook and avoided for a decade or so for much the same reasons. Family convinced me to go on during COVID so they could see kid stuff. I must admit I've discovered the classifieds are actually well used. Sort of too bad, as I prefer usedvic/craigslist/kijiji etc. without a doubt.
