This truck has a Hino version (W04CTH) of the Toyota 14BT direct injection turbo diesel engine. I'm so tempted to try to put that motor in my LJ78... :steer:

Price is right:

Maybe I should put my camper on the back....something like this:

I spoke with him today and yesterday... turns out it's got the 6.5L. Too big to fit :frown: . Price was sooooo right!

Vin code is 5H, so H06C-T, 180HP.
1994 hino vin# JHBFD5HK8R2S10114

I was curious, it states that it has a common rail injection. Advantages to that? Or not.
396 cu in engine. No matter what, it is an industrial engine that would last 1 million in
a non-industrial application.

Advantage to common rail is they can make a lot more power, are quieter, and are very efficient. Downside is they are electronic and newer ones have a lot of emissions equipment. Probably not much back in 1994 tho.

My guess is that this Hino would be similar to the Cummins 6B of the same era, with slightly less HP (although the Hino were available in 200 & 220HP versions as well). 6Bs have been dropped into 60s before, but with lots of frame reinforcing, suspension mods, and squeeze-into-engine-bay wizardry.

That is actually a really good deal in today's diesel cruiser market. The rust is really not bad either. Hmmm...I have a few people in mind for this thing.
