i like how the neighbour's fence is contoured to the shape of the truck! Who doesn't like purple!?!?

not much there... but $650. Including the 8274 :D

I bet that's in Steve's driveway already, haha!
He’s paid a deposit... but hasn’t dragged it home with the 60 yet. I didn’t see a trailer at his place, but I suspect he’s got one hiding there somewhere.

275 hp 1.3 litre... seems crazy

Be a wild ride if the numbers are true

Wife sent me this in an email... don't know where she saw it.

Looks like a Toyota dealership?

Those windows look like a good task for the meat plow. :hillbilly: The only way working class folks can obtain mint old 40's now is by nefarious means. :poof:

In BC...

I'm beginning to think the Mercedes OM617 in a LJ78 Prado isn't everything people imagine it would be. This thing seems to have changed hands more than any Prado I've seen. Makes me glad I didn't swap one in mine. Call me crazy, but I like my 2LTE (albeit upgraded).

You're crazy. :flipoff2:

But yeah... I've heard it feels too much like a car engine, but I've never driven one in a truck so I'm kinda talking out of my ass
Always thought it might be ok in a 2wd mini truck for a DD, but I don't know if there's any real gains over a 22re to make it worth doing, other than being able to say it's a diesel.
And in a light little 2wd, a VW swap might be fine too, and maybe get enough mpg to pay off the adapter before we're all banned from driving old junk anyways. 😭

Yeah, I think the OM617 would be fine in the lighter trucks. My LJ hasn't really had much weight added besides a winch, and it weights in at about 4700lb with no one in it and some tools in the back.

Fellow in the states put a VW ALH diesel into an LJ78 manual trans truck. He likes it so far, but still working out some bugs. I can't fathom a little motor like that doing what I demand of my truck (8500lb+ up the Malahat), but I guess that 500cc reduction in displacement would be more than offset by the direct injection advantage from the VW. I don't think he intends to tow in his case anyhow....

Nice looking diesel 80 for a reasonable price (by todays standards). @Rigpig
