Wow, I could save myself some work and $$$ and just buy that one as mine might look like that in 10-20 years!!

Rob, I think you know of one that would be a tad cheaper then that one...and get you there right away! lol.

Ya, I know....

$13,900...as is where is how is...Add $2000.00(ish) for the Eshan 7 window and Pilgrim Bows and spare parts....I'll probably be putting it up again after Moab.

So then you're taking the 42 to Moab again Greg?

Nope...it's sitting in the underpark, under wrap and sulking; Waiting for someone to rescue it.

I bet Dan has already called. I wonder if it is the one with the 350 swap that was up for sale there a year or two ago?

That one (which was a 71) ended up on the island and has shuffled through a few owners since.

Here's a BJ42 for sale Land Cruiser

That looks very steep for that condition, does it come with a 12HT/5 speed with 50,000km?

I was thinking similar thoughts ;)

I find it a little high as well, but really it's not completely out of line. They are becoming a dying breed and becoming a collectors item. Truck is an 84, which is much rarer than an 81 BJ42 and has the power steering and 5 speed that people like. Throw a new tub and paint job on there and look for $21000 like the other 42 currently on the market in whistler. :hillbilly:

Some decent deals south of the border...

So anyone know what the story is with this? I saw it for sale when I was buying my pickup but it was advertised for $6000+ so I didn't bother and that was over 4 months ago. Now it's still there, what's wrong with it?

It's not $21k, that's why. I personally think the market for unrestored 40's is tanking with the readily available JDM 70's and '81's.

There are just fewer folks out there that have an interest in old school trucks, so I think the ones that buy a truck like this are looking for them in really good condition.

Oh, I'm sorry , you asked a practical question...

Maybe the frame is toast, what do I know; did you want me to go look at it for ya? (You know I need the distraction..... :steer:)

I saw one in Yarrow last fall. It was red but the paint looked very faded and had rust. If I get out that way this weekend, I may check it out. The paint on that one looks pretty good and it is missing the usual rust on the tub or the aluminum plate to cover it up.

Grrr, and I really don't have the room for another truck, so I'll pass....but am still curious why it's held out this long or if it has just been missed. Figured one of you guys out that way would have already checked it out.
