Noticed my left front tire has weird tire wear pattern. If you look at the picture you can see that the outside edge lugs show a every other lug what appears to be high / low wear. These Toyo's are roughly a year old. Replaced the links of the steering set up and will be replacing the springs either next month or Dec. local tire guy was clueless. The inside edge lugs are showing a feathering. Some of the other tires are also starting to show this feathering. I will be changing to winter tires at some point, don't know yet when.

That is called scalloping ... some call it cupping

I am not surprised the tire guy had no clue ... that's the way it is today

It could be a number of things ... shocks... wheel bearings... wheel assembly out of ballence

I would recommend repacking and tightening back up correctly the front wheel bearings first for a hoot ask the tire guy to PP the your front axle ... Pack&Preload :)

How old are the shocks ? Original?

Best way to describe what's happening is that the tire is bouncing ... an unwanted movement of the tire when rotating

I've seen this on vehicles travelling at speed, just a barely discernable vertical bounce. Suspect shocks too.
How is front tire pressure? Sometimes too much looking for fuel economy makes them hard, creating a
bit of bounce?

noticed today that the inside edge is doing the same. Pressure is about 37psi, normally I run 35psi but tire shop says that 40psi is lowest recommended for a 10ply tire. Shocks are only a couple of years old. Will be doing a new suspension in November. Toe is at +.04 degrees. Castor is 0.7 left 0.5 right. Camber is 0.4 left -0.1 right. All within tolerances that I have numbers for.

I run my Toyo MT's at ~34 PSI. I started running them higher when I first bought them, about 45 PSI and on one trip
I ran 50 PSI. But the truck - 60 series - didn't feel right. I don't know what the 'minimum' recommended pressure is.
I've run home a couple times at 18 PSI on the highway, but not for more than 60-70 kms. I would think that your
truck with no load, the tires could be run be lower.

Do you get any shudder when you hit the brakes? The tires on my 3/4 ton truck are doing the same thing, it shudders when I hit the brakes at speed, and Im almost certain its because my shocks are worn out.
