I'm about to pull the Super Swampers off the FJ as I'll begin driving it daily again. I had really been leaning toward another set of Nitto Trail Grapplers, but now I'm leaning more toward a AT vs a MT tire. I loved the Trail graplers on my tundra, and I love the way they look on Hodges ride, but they still only make that tire in a E rating. I'd prefer a lighter weight D class tire for a daily driver. I'm going to go with a 285/70 or 295/70/17 on my factory rims. I'm kinda leaning toward the Nitto Terra Grapler but would love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks,

Not positive about side walls available but I was looking hard at some general at2 tires, similar tread pattern as BFG KOs but cheaper

Don't forget to check with Brad (TinCan) also. Speaking of TC, has anyone heard from him lately? I haven't seen him here or on the blu........

i talked to him a few weeks ago. he's in the process of buying Music Express so he's been busy with that.

chris, i would def go with a 295. 285s look too small when u have a lift. check out the Hankook Dynapro AT. I had them before i bought my Nittos and they were awesome. had them for a couple years and they still looked almost new (tread wise) when i sold them.

Doing some looking right now. Not many manufatures out there making a 295/70/17 Most make a 285 though.

Does anyone have any experience with Cooper tires?
As suggested I'm also looking at the Micky Thompson, and Hankooks, Generals, BFG's, etc etc

If nothing else I'll atleast have compiled a list of links..

I had the grabber AT2s on my FJ for a little bit. They looks pretty good and perform well, and are cheap.

I got to see alot of tires on trucks this weekend while we were at the ball park. Really kinda leaning toward something like the Micky Thompson baha ATZ or Cooper zeons. I also saw a truck with the Kelly Safari's, pretty good looking tire. The Nitto Dunes are certainly different, maybe a little to different for my taste though. I still like the Nitto terra graplers, but the side walls are a little to plain.

I get pretty goo prices on BFG and Mickey Thompson.. If you find anything you like in those shoot me a mssg and I can see what I can do.

Quote me please sir. (4) LT275/70R17/E BFG AT KO Can I pay for some of it in beer?

only comment have in this thread is

'show don`t necessarily GO! & Go dosen`t necessarily show":)

My Super Swampers certainly GO and SHOW. But they also really show up at the gas pump and they wear pretty quick. I put the stockers back on this weekend. I really forgot how nice a ride the FJ was. My radio volume has easily been reduced 25% on my ride to work. I want a tire that has some Show and Goes to work. However if I see an interesting opportunity to go exploring I want a tire that still inspires some confidence in the slick stuff. I'm not trying to replace the SSers They will be on my rig for events etc.

all listed and linked in this thread. Just waiting for an extra 1500 to apear in my account.

No kidding,

I'll be lagging behind in the mod race for awhile. Hoping to still get a front bumper, winch, and some armor this year.
