would any one know if the type of tire makes a difference in gas mileage. I know the size does. I am running some procomp mud terrains in a 315 and thought I might swap for a good a/t tire since I am mainly driving it in town.

I think that the question is vehicle dependent. An Audi is capable of much better fuel mileage than say, an FJ 40. So if your rig has the potential for very good mileage, because of good aerodynamics or whatever, than yes, the type of tire can make a significant difference.

sure it make a difference in MPG to go from a MT to an AT tire, or even then to a street tire. From left to right mileage increases.

hahaha ok so I guess that was not a very good question to ask. thanks
