Very popular winch challenge tyre. have a look at the extreme trekker.

Not too bad on road but definatley built for off road.

i've got'em on my 4by (35x11.5x15) and they are great!!!!
good for just about every thing, and i would recommend them!!
but there not that great on road but i run another set of tire for the road
Heres a photo of them on the middy

I run 35 x 10.5 x 16 on the troopy, like everyone else said, incredible in the mud.
They are bloody dangerous on the road, but I only put them on to get me to a muddy drive, and I take it easy.

Virtually all winch challenge rigs in NZ run these as they are the most aggressive road legal (& therefore comp legal) tyre available.

I don't think they have the US DOT rating so they aren't legal on the road over there.

Cheers
Clint

I went to a 4wd comp recently and it seemed to be more of case of who didnt have them;)
The terrain was full of sharp rocks but I didnt see anyone shred a tyre

I run 34" jungle trekkers on my middy (mud runs only), and as mentioned here, they are a fantastic tyre.

They do have a very strong carcass and therefore I find them superb at soaking up potholes that I really should have slowed down for :o

However for rock crawling, some rigs may have issues with them as the stiff structure means airing down may not always give the desired bag out.

I would normally run my MTRs or BFGs at around 22PSI for normal offroad, however to get any bag from the JTs, I have to drop down to around 14-15PSI, and without beadlocks that could run a greater risk of rolling the tyre off.

You may also want to look at a copy of the tyre by a company called Silverstone. They do one that is almost identical in appearance, but should be a little cheaper. Its also used in many serious mud (Rainforest Challenge) events.

Road wise they aren't brilliant. I keep to around 80kms on mine and aside from the noise, they are generally well behaved. Not sure what they would be like on wet tar road, but i don't think they'd be the safest thing out there.

Hey.... I run 35x10,50,R15 on my LC and on road with some problems, but off road I think is a very good tyre.

Also, in my Suzuki Samurai I run simex extreme trekker 31x10,50xR15 front and rear locked. Were a 4x4 with 35 or 36 inches tyres pass, my suzuki alway go on with any problem..... The same with my LC.
