Tire Carrier hinges and supplies?

Hi folks
Want to mod my custom rear bumper on my truck to a swing out tire carrier. Any sources for the parts, I'll be fabbing the actual tire carrier and swing mount with a friend.

you can buy DIY kits from 4x4 labs as well as parts and pieces. I built my own bumper then got a tire carrier kit and a Jerry can kit from him. nice laser cut stuff. he sells the hinges as well.

I actually have two of the 4X4 labs spindles if you want to see one up close and personal for taking dimensions and such.

ironpigoffroad.com sells a nice kit as well...actually they have two kits. One uses an oil impregnated bushing (my fav) and another uses the typical spindle/bearing set up.

hey landtank, good idea, might take you up on that... I'm not sure if I have enough meat on either side of my bumper, trying to figure out an elegant solution. if possible, having the spindle in hand will help

I'm not sure what my schedule is for work next week as I work in the field. But if I'm around we can easily meet up one night and check things out.

check out rockstomper.com for spindles as well. McMaster Carr for the tire carrier latches. i also use a spring pin from AW Direct for a hold open pin.

Tractor supply had typical lawn mower and trailer spindles. Cheap and effective.
