SILVER Star
I've done a lot of searching and all I can find is people using the basic black bedliner on the fenders where the flares were. I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried to use the same color liner as the rest of the rig. Last week I broke the front flare, and honestly I've been looking for a good reason to take them all off. My rig was the dark green, but was painted Dune Beige (Toyota 416) by the PO. I absolutely love the tan color, but under the flares it's still green. I'm not real keen on the black bedliner on a tan truck and was thinking about getting it tinted to match. Anyone have any pictures of this?
As I see it, I have a few options:
1. Leave it green. Cheap. Not that much different than black bedliner.
2. Black bedliner. Easy, and cheapest "fix". Might look OK with black bumpers/tires, etc.
3. Paint it with regular paint to match the dune beige. Probably around ~150 bucks, and will likely look crappy since this is my first automotive paint job, but could look more "factory"
4. Tinted bedliner. Will look good (finish-wise, anyway), but probably close to $200 for primer, color-match paint, and liner.
BTW, I'm a novice at this, and went to the local auto paint store for advice (Space Age in Mesa). I'd like to do this myself, asthetics aren't of highest importance as its only a trail/camping truck, and I'd like to learn something too while I'm at it.
