Hi all, looking for experienced and ideally not ridiculously priced mechanics in the triangle skilled enough to replace my timing belt and water pump in my 99 lx470. The one I’m considering currently is creech imports in Raleigh, but want to know about all other local options before I schedule the service. Thanks all!

I can recommend H&H Automotive in Charlotte. I know it’s not in the triangle but he came recommended to me and did a great job on my KZJ78 with putting a new head on and other stuff.

I think I’m going to use his shop. Any chance you might know if this shop services AHC suspension? My shocks are weeping

Your “shocks” may not be bad. With AHC, they are just hydraulic rams essentially and too high of system pressure due to incorrect adjustment can cause them to weep. Highly recommend baselining the system by doing a fluid flush and getting pressures in spec before spending money on it. Most shops don’t understand the system and will just advise you rip it out. I love my AHC in my 2003 LX.

Happy to help if you have questions on AHC.

Don't know for sure. Ask him. He is an honest soul.

Jay at Renaissance is the guy. Not sure on the AHC. He has done like 4 tiing belt services for me and no issues at all.

I appreciate that! I do think I might just flush the system first which seems easy enough for a DIY. The fluid in the reservoir looks black so I suspect it hasn’t been serviced in a long time.

Make sure you read the ABC’s of AHC thread and follow paddo’s method for flushing the system to prevent air bubbles. It’s an easy diy.

A flush and getting your pressures in spec via adjustment of sensors, T-bars and rear springs will go a long way.
