I'm at 89,000 on my 99' LC. Gearing up to replace the timing belt. Anyone have any suggestions or words of wisdom before I jump into this? I haven't done this on a Toy V8 before, but I hear its not too bad. Parts guy said I only needed the belt ($40) and nothing else. Is that right? Most of the ones I've done in the past required a bunch of other stuff be removed to get to it, which meant a bunch of gaskets had to be replaced.

Thanks for any input

Do a search, IIRC there are a couple things you should also do, water pump being one of them. But, since you are getting ready to tackle this it would be terrific if you could document (pics as well) and post the entire process on this forum. I'm sure there are plenty of others who could benefit. Both of my 100's are at about 70K so I would like to see if this is something I could do myself.

I tried to find some info by search but nothing came up. I'll do the report thing, good idea. Just have to remember the pics, have a history of forgeting to stop and take pics.
