At the rate I am moving... I will be doing my first timing belt change, hopefully in the spring of next year. I will have have put 70,000 miles on the truck in 18 months by the end of August.
It occurred to me last week that theres a good chance that my water pump, alternator, fuel pump, fuel filter and other such items will last until time for the timing belt change. So I could plan to buy say the alternator and water pump over the next few months, I could buy all the parts, that have to be taken off the engine to put the timing belt in, and just have those parts put back on when things are reassembled.
Wash, Rinse, Repeat to get to 300,000 miles.
Question is.... what parts should I plan on replacing?

My 100 LX has 260,000 miles. I just replaced the alternator because it finally needed replacing. I haven't needed to replace the water pump yet. To me, that is what makes the 80 and 100's such good vehicles. The parts usually lasts a long time making the vehicle a long term no brainer. I suggest wait until it goes out. You could very well have several more years left on those parts you speak of.

Wow, @BullElk, you have some high mileage LCs. Nice!

OP, do a quick search and you'll find a ton of 90K service threads. I believe @ntsaint started one recently.

I will be around 170,000 miles by the end of the summer so I am guessing that I will make 200,000 around the end of the year
