Although this is my second year with PMC,you decided to elect me for the calendar.

So, I'm looking to all PMC members to post up some ideas for some new runs.
Whether it may be a wheeling run (light or hard) or just a day to do some fishing or hunting. I'll then bring these up at the next meeting (not the X-Mas party).Maybe John can post something in the next newsletter so there will be more people to see it there, then the handfull of mud users.

Looking forward to see what other people have in mind, so i'll start with this.
In looking at another club house corner, I came across a run that might be a good one. Has anybody heard of Barney Riley Trail out of Markleeville.South of Lake Tahoe off 89. It offers some wheeling, fishing, and a natural hot spring.

the Barney Riley would be an excellent PMC run... it is light to moderate, good for the vast majority of PMC members.

I also suggest Deer Valley between Hwy 4 and 88... where the FJ45 run is held (although can be a long trip). But Slickrock trail is right there also, takes about an hour to run.

We were also doing a Covelo to Pillsbury overnight which was fun, close and a short weekend trip.

We should run the Lost Coast! The entire length.. good wagon friendly type run.

More local trips to Cow Mtn also might fit into everyones schedule.

There is the Bartlett Springs loop, with camping there at Bear Creek campground, good close overnight. CAn also fish there on Bear Creek.

also, what about perhaps running in the local parade? or helping out at the Russion River Clean up and offering our 4 wheel drives to help extract old dead cars from the river bed?

just some thoughts off the top of my head... Good job Dion, I am very excited to see your leadership and take charge actions. Nicely done.

Lost Coast would be on top of my list.
A larger Fordyce run would be fun.
We could certainly start a section in the newsletter for posting potenial runs and do a poll/vote or just get feedback on the idea. Just to keep you aware that there has been little response to the newsletter. I appreciate the fact that we are getting input from a few different club chairs and 2008 looks to be a stellar year with Rubithon on an anniversary year, Fordyce looking likely, and possibly a couple local/moderate overnighters to some base camp style wheeling in the mix.

What is the trail down by Fresno. I was talking with some people on Marlins 07 run. It sound like a long trail. Maybe join up with some other clubs on there runs ?

We should also put in Marlins run for 08 and show support. It has a good turn out of people with over 100 register vehicles, and some good raffle drawing with all proceeds the last 2 years going to the Friends of the Rubicon.

yes, Dusy Ershim and Swamp Lake. a few other shorter runs down there. I am very familiar with Dusy.

it is about a 5 hr drive to Shaver Lake... then another 30 miles to Courtwright reservoir. the trail is 33 miles long, all above 9000 feet.

It is closed in the wet months, opens for summer.

and yes to the Marlin run.

and of course, we cannot forget our TLCA runs. They comprise a large portion of our calendar, but they also draw good PMC turnout.

Another vote for Lost Coast... Would love to get up there. I hope to get out more this coming year - the home remodel has sucked up all my time.

I am down for over night runs:beer:

If any one need's a place to stay for long trips that go through the valley my place is always open. And all the tools and parts to fix just about anything.

ryan,

I like the idea of the Lost Coast run. Just now got my cruiser up and running and plan on going to everything possible.

Who would like to volunteer to head up a run for the Lost Coast
I would plan it for June 6-8 or unless something else will work.
