Leaking a fair amount of oil from my valve covers. Nothing that's showing on the dipstick but I'm tire of having a stinky truck.

Besides spark plugs is there a labor crossover on anything else PM related?

A few things that I ended up doing at the same time

- Inspect vacuum lines in the area and replace if they are getting crispy. Most all of my lines connecting to the resonator on passenger side were barley hanging on.
- Clean and inspect coil / rubber boots
- If airbox is off give it a good cleaning and inspect throttle body plate
- Inspect power steering air vane, 2 lines coming off back of PS pump. mine were brittle and broke during the job.

Spark plug tube gaskets; PCV valve, grommet, and hose; clean MAF sensor and throttle body; multiple vacuum/EVAP hoses; spark plugs and ignition coils (at least inspect the coils for cracking etc); also good time to change fuel filter and green clip.

I strongly recommend replacing all 18 of the valve cover bolts and popping the half moons out and applying new FIPG to them as well.

Good call, forgot about the seals around the bolts and the spark plug tube seals. Mine were mangled. Although my half moons were a different story, couldn't even manage to get them to budge so didn't replace =[

Solid list here. Thanks Guys.

Probably going to keep my fingers crossed on the coils. Seems like an easy enough stand alone job unless there is something I'm missing?

Is there a part number for those bolts?

I'd echo that removing the airbox resulted in a lot of cracked and/or sketchy-for-reuse clips, tubes and hoses, so having them on hand when you do the job is probably worth the small investment. Some part numbers from my notes:

Part No.: 12262-50080 HOSE, VENTILATION, N
Part No.: 90467-20010 CLIP
Part No.: 90999-92002 HOSE, VACUUM

Use Toyota FIPG.

Anyone heard from Joey at Wits End lately? I put this order in on the 8th and haven't seen any movement. Phone straight to vm, etc.

I know that he’s dealing with a very serious health issue in his family. Hopefully it didn’t take a turn for the worse...

This, and he is sorta a one man shop. If you follow him on IG you can get a sense of what he's going through. On a positive note, he recently had his 20,000 order, kinda cool when most of his stuff until recently were niche products and not replacement part kits.

There are more important things than a valve cover gasket kit. I don't really feel right looking him up on insta to tune into his families medical issues but if any of you are personal friends with him you might want to reach out.

I didn't email him until yesterday but haven't seen anything on the order since the 8th. Compared to about two months ago when he sent me a replacement screw the next day after asking for it. Hopefully it's not as bad as this sounds.

Anyone know the torque specs for the filler neck gasket? I can’t find it in the FSM and since I’m chasing my oil as we speak and I have that gasket I’d like to just replace it now since it’s leaking.

IIRC from when I replaced mine, it’s 65 in-lbs.

Okay. Thanks! I ended up just basically tightening it by feel. Didn’t torque it too much. Figured I can torque more if it leaks at all.
