I've been fighting my LX a little to keep straight on the road. I have it at my local shop right now to get an alignment and they've called saying they can't budge the tie rods. They're also saying that there are signs that a previous shop tried to get them to move and probably wasn't able to. Is there something they're missing here? There isn't a lot of rust under the vehicle and I wouldn't expect that to be an issue.

My shop broke my tie rod end last week trying to get it to move. Snapped completely. off.

If you're in Minnesota, probably rust. Heat and beat are the best options. Aside from busting out the oxy.

Or cut it off and replace both the inner and outer.

Thanks, cut and replace might be the way we go.

We are getting more and more calls for them, just as we did when the 100's started seeing higher miles particularly in corrosive environments (like the salty winters here). As such, we stock full TRE replacement kits for the 200 using high quality Japanese parts.

Kurt, just want to confirm. This kit is both inner and outer tie rods on both sides? If so, that is one hell of a deal.

Correct, two inner, LH outer, RH outer and two jam nuts

Do you have a kit for Tundras too?

This just happened to a friend of mine in Minnesota and I told her to find another shop, that’s crazy. Isn’t it just a rod in a tube. Heat and soak in PB blaster and try again? I grew up in Michigan and have never heard of them not being able to get them to turn. Live and learn I guess.

Funny, I had a shop tell me exactly the same thing about my LX. I asked them to show me on the lift and I was able to turn jam nut with hardly any resistance. I think it may have just been their excuse for not being able to figure out how to align the truck. Needless to say I don't use that shop anymore.

Good to hear they're available. Lexus dealership told me one side was frozen on my LX and they could only replace the whole rack as the tie rods weren't available separately. Yikes.

Nothing yet... though we have been looking into the market to see what makes sense to stock.

My alignment shop was complaining that they had to heat my tie rod on the passenger side to align the truck. Got it done though.

That should be fun for them!

My wife’s LX570 was in for an alignment today and the same thing happened, passenger side snapped right off, oem parts were 4-10 days out, ordered 555 parts from Cruiser Outfitters and had them overnighted…. Got the complete kit and changing all 4 inner and outer rod ends… Hopefully they arrive tomorrow and they can get the LX back together with a proper alignment…
Just a heads up… supply chain issues are making things difficult right now…
