I wimped out on installing my own rack and now I'm regretting it. After picking up the truck from my local shop, I noticed rubbing at full turn. Turned out to be tie rod end on wheel.

I think they are upside down or on the wrong sides. Is there a left and right or can they be installed upside down?

What's your opinion on the wheel damage? I don't want to be a jerk, but I also don't want my tire to come off the wheel on black bear pass. Probably shaved 1/8th inch off the top of the 90 degree bend on the inside bead.

Not what I needed today.

You're not being demanding. They clearly owe you a wheel. Doubt it would fail because of what is shown though, but that's not the point. When you pay for service this should never happen.

They were installed on the wrong sides. I've done it... they are side specific....When I did mine the first time , I have no idea how they ended up on the wrong side. I checked both sides to make sure I was installing them on the correct side.... and still did it wrong. Go Figure. I still run the same wheels and have no problems.

Up to you if you want to keep running them or push for them to replace. Bu they should fix the problem.

Same damage on both front wheels, so it would be 2 wheels. I planned to take it back there for them to replace my evaporator, condensor, drier, etc for the A/C which isn't cheap either. I'm not picky, I just want it to continue to be reliable. Maybe a barter is in order.

For the record, front end parts were $760, Labor was about $800 in the Florida Keys.

Travis,

Those are definitely installed on the wrong side. Not only do they need to fix it, they need to replace your rims. They were not damaged when you came in, they did not have a 1/8" shaved off and wheel weights damaged. If you took their rental car and ground the rims on a curb and said "that wasn't my fault"...they would laugh at you. That is the thickest part of the entire rim, however that doesn't excuse the damage they did, and it could potentially be a failure waiting to happen, though I 99.9% doubt anything would happen.

Just my opinion.
