Terry i'll look in my FSM for ways to fix your cruiser control.

I am going to answer some of the subjects brought up here.

I made numerous calls today to numerous agencies and got put on hold / transferred more times than Meatball can count , but I can now say all my vehicles are 100 % legal on the roads in NC. My few mods on my few rigs are legit and are no problem shall I ever get in an accident or whatever . Is there gray area out there ? YES.

I can only think of one other current member of our club that might have gone thru more 4x4 courses than me. I have gone thru 5. I have even blown up an engine at Rod Halls HUMMV racing school. Does it make me perfect out there ? NO. Now that I do not go to these other countries and play anymore I do not put myself or my passengers in an unsafe place . Did I over there ? Probably. But I got everyone home. Might have had dome extra holes and extra metal in them but that is Combat .

Back to the subject at hand.

I'm thinking of upgrading my 2x4 Cruise to something like this:

Handthrottle.jpg

 R

My factory hand throttle is only set up for 2k rpm which is too low for a 2f at highway speeds. Even with a h55. I have only used mine a hand full of times when wheeling or jump starting another truck.

If they were illegal to use, toyota would have had a recall to have them removed and would not stock the parts so you could buy them. They don't come with a warning saying how to use it. Cause we all know 25 years ago the type of person to own these new didn't use his hand throttle for wheeling.

I was going to stay out of this part of it but you have hooked me in.

When you have a close family member killed from someone doing this back in the 80's then you might ( probably not in this ME generation , which I am very thankful I am not a part of looking on this thread ) think twice about doing the right thing. It was able to be proven in court too that it was voluntary manslaughter not involuntary as the cables came with a statement to not use as cruise control. That person that did it just got out of jail. He could not kill himself but had to kill part of my family. Do think about that next time you just think about yourself out here driving doing the wrong thing.

I do not want or need your sympathy , I just want you to think about that next time you do it. Then maybe you will understand why it is supposed to come with that statement on it.

Think about the other person out there you are sharing the road with . They might just be doing this and kill part of your family. How would YOU feel ????????
