Team,
I don't have much experience with TBW gas pedals but the one on the new to me LC seems little notchy or stiff. Old style cable pulls seem much more analog to me. Is this just me or does the 06 LCs have favorite or preferred spots along the go pedal travel?

It seems like a new sensor or cleaning/lube of the gas pedal assembly might make the stroke feel smoother? giggity....

In no means does the throttle get stuck or hangup but just feels artificial when modulating the gas pedal, sort of like preset spots and the way to the floor.

LMK if it common or just mine.

I noticed the same on my 04' 100. Its "sticky" during the initial phase of stepping on the gas. This was resolved on my 80 after cleaning the intake with cleaner and changing the cable wire. I wonder if there's a way to lube the DBW gas pedal.

As a note, the DBW pedal on my 09' Honda Pilot and my 01' Audi S4 is smooth.

I was going to lube my accelerator pedal to get rid of the stickiness but I just found this article:

Lube is a no-no on Lexus

Lexus warns that accelerator pedals on 2001-2013 vehicles do not require lubrication. DO NOT apply oil or other lubrication to the accelerator pedal assembly. If applied, the accelerator pedal assembly must be replaced.

This TSB applies to models CT200H, ES300, ES300H, ES330, ES350, GS300, GS350, GS430, GS450H, GS460, GX460, GX470, HS250H, IS F, IS250, IS250C, IS350, IS350C, LFA, LS430, LS460, LS600H, LX470, LX570, RX330, RX350, RX400H, RX450H and SC430"

I'll take a peak and check if there's gunk in the pedal assembly. Perhaps I'll blow some compressed air into it.

Absolutely correct!

This also applies to ALL TBW Sequoias, Tundras and Land Cruisers!

Thanks for posting.

Great question !

My LX accelerator seems buttery smooth. My LC takes much more effort. Wanting to remedy that myself !

Any insight appreciated.

What year did they move the apps to the cabin? On the older ones it could be cable drag. Even though my 2000 is TBW, there is still a cable which goes all the way to the TB. The cable, however, only moves the apps which in turn provides input to the ECU to drive the TB stepper motor. The advantage of this arrangement is that the last 1/4 of pedal travel will manually open the butterfly as a backup so broken electronics won't leave you stranded.

Super90,
U mind snapping a quick pick of ur LC and lx gas pedal assembly please?
I would assume they are the same but would be nice to see and compare to my 06 LC
Thanks in advance
Evo

They are the same from LX to LC, both 2003 models. I can't imagine they changed from '03 to '06. I'll see if I can get a pic up later.
