I've got to tell you, just been lurking alot, a whole lot. Had no idea of how to post pics and I know how very important(entertaining/interesting) pics are. Tonight the wife had a plan that included drinking beer and learning me how to do the picture thing. So far so good and I plan to back track to show alittle more of the progress.Including the saginaw power steering that I got from everyone (thanks)

I've been waiting a very long time for the wife or my 16 year old to show me how to do the pic thing . I kinda understand how things work and without pic's It loses its kick. So I have sat back and watched everyone elses projects move along.

Not for everyone but I like . Tried to do something with it.

thanks for the pics. This is one of my rig waiting to be armacoated. Next week I am starting a build up thread. This is the inside cowl before pic. I had it done in the coranado biege to match the pain job on the rest of the body. Monday when I take it to the paint shop I will have better after pics to post.

LC pre armacoat (4).webp I am having it painted the next couple of weeks.

This " 40 thing '" as you so lightly put it will soon become worse than a crack addiction, your wife will become a Cruiser widow and you will do anything for parts......welcome aboard brotha!

It's to late, and I'm not sure why it hits so hard. There is no reason someone should jump into another project/semi restore before finishing the first one. The weekends and nights that I'm suposedly working are ridiculous. I really can't figure it out but I can't leave them alone.

mcwinery, yours is alittle more involved than mine. At first all I wanted was something to thrash in the woods (looking for a jeep, got a wagoneer for $200) then I saw a fj40. Found this one , looked half way decent untill I decided to at least paint it one color. Realised it was'nt it bad shape and very little rust so now got caught up in a kinda resurection/restore.Looking back when I cut and replaced all the body mounts I should have went one step further with a body off (I was right there).

Todt, it is not too late. the only thing I dread is when it comes to putting the wire harness back together. But then maybe I just take it over to mudracks and say "How Much" and bend over. I do think it will be easier once I get started. Reading everyone else’s questions and hearing how much they are able to get done gives me more confidence in what I will be able to do. Good luck.

Mcwinery, the power steering took a good bit out of me so Im going to simply enjoy driving it for a while before I do anything envolved. Need to finish my lid (hard top) next. I'll be checking out your build and try to start something myself. I love watching the other 69s.

Welcome to Mud. It looks like you've got your hands full. The main thing that I've learned is to enjoy the addiction. Sometimes you can use it to your advantage. About 5 yr. ago my wife told me that is was time for me to build my own garage and to get out of hers'. She didn't have to tell me twice. Good Luck on your projects and enjoy them and build them the way you want them.

I have a granite shop so I have some room. The only problem is while I'm trying to work my cruiser is in the corner just calling my name. " I've got alot of work to do today, I'm going in early/ or I have to stay late to catch up." Then I come home with grease all over me.
