What do you think Chad... you want my 40 to build up... come get it and build it up! i already got one and it takes enough of my time so come get my other one that i have laying around

I'm ready when you are.

I dream of similar every day. sometimes I just lay under my truck and fantasize.

If the 80 was gutted of all those heavy seats in favor of some cheap wheeling seats and if you dont need heavy armour cause your truck looks like crap anyway you could have a relatively "normal" weighted truck. A stock 80 weighs 4700 and change. a stock tj (pre armour) weighs 3700. you could shed a few hundred pounds in seat swap and haul a lot of gear

i dream of trussing the stock 80 front end and a cheap 3 link. then some longfields. $1000. Buy 5.29's. now run 40's if you arn't stupid to break stuff

The rear can take 40's as it sits

trim her a bit and dont go high like action jackson did. space the wheels wide and she will turn just fine

coil overs would be too cool

A d60 in the front may not be a bad idea.

cheap ram assist using the oe steering box

everyone and their dog wheels a 40 or a heep. for less than $3000 and some weekends (not including your tires/wheels of choice-go used) one could have a killer 80. Sean is my hero

Dusty... I've also considered welding the rear doors shut and tubbing the rear to fit 40's. We'll see what I come up with. It looks like currently I will be keeping the 80, so my work in progress will continue.

There is a great 80 in KY now with volvo portals and 42s. It was not that much of a stretch the way he did it. Modified the cruiser 5 link and 3 link to work with the axles. It works awesome.

These axles (Mog and Volvo) have super deep gearing. It will give you all the crawl you need with the stock drivetrain.

If you do it, get the axles under it and then worry about engine and the rest later.

4BT

4BT would be killer.

Come on Chad think dovetail, no rear frame after the t-case, and internal cage. That should solve all rear steer issues, weight, and keeping it low ;p

Okay, well my body is already beat to crap, why don't I just do something like this?
