Thinking of trading in my 2017 GX 460 for a 2016+ LX 570 or Landcruiser

Yes... haha, the caveat obviously is that if you get to the point where you need 3.0 shocks, you can just remove AHC to run standard suspension!
Agreed, no downsides!

My wife has a 22 GX and me a 21 LC. My Cruiser always gets the nod for our family trips (2 adults & 3 kids) and airport runs. The one huge factor for us is the extra, although just inches, of storage behind the 3rd row seat when it is down for a passenger. We can stand up a full Samsonite 50 pound luggage bag there and it makes a world of difference.

Same here. Wife’s ’22 gx460 always sits in the garage over the LC

I thought you could not remove the AHC in the 2016+ LX?
It can be removed. There are instructions somewhere on this forum to make it so there’s no dash lights.

One of the issues I haven’t seen a solution for with ahc delete is sway bars…though I’m not mechanically inclined to know whether it’s a real issue.

The sway bars on the ahc based system, so I’m told, are a bit spindly since they’re, like the coil springs, a bit spindly.

So if you swap out the spindly coil springs with normal springs, I don’t know what people are using for sway bars if anything (if needed). I’d imagine one of the 200 series sold globally doesn’t have ahc or kdss…you might pull sway bars from those?

@ben7 did you secure an LX/LC?

They are using the sway bars that came with the LX. I had trouble determining if they were the exact same parts as ROW cruisers without KDSS, but I do know they are much less stiff than actual KDSS bars via significant diameter difference.

So realistically a LX on cruiser coils/shocks won’t corner quite as flat or articulate quite as much as the disconnecting KDSS bars on a cruiser equipped with that, but the system will be much more simple.

Not yet, I’m waiting for a good deal on one. If I don’t find one by early next year, I might just put a lift kit on my GX 460 and keep it. :)

What year(s), mileage range and price are you looking for?

Another thing i found out is the real world acceleration is about the same between the GX and LX. I always thought yeah the 200 weighs more but it has a lot more power and displacement and has more performance.

My buddy has a GX and its always a bit behind my LC in acceleration. Are you talking specifically LX?

I’m looking to purchase a 2017-2019 Lexus LX 570 (three row) with the luxury package and with around 20K - 30K miles in the low $60K range.

Ahh, ok. I have a buddy thinking about unloading his 2009 with 150K miles, not gonna work for you haha.
