So this weekend a friend sold me a 1968 Ford Bronco for a price I could not pass up. He owned it for 30 years and was in his family before that. It was his recreational vehicle but his kids grew up and he just had it in his garage sitting there with a bunch of new parts (full soft top with doors!). The bronco is pretty solid with a 289 that according to him has always been kept up. He got rid of the top and doors with the intention to install a soft top and door inserts. When I went to go see it, it started right up but one of the exhaust manifolds has a crack and is loud but the engine is very steady. Also he recently replaced the head gasket but the intake manifold gasket didn't sit right when it was put together and so it eventually developed a leak. Also needs a new or rebuild carburetor. He said with just those repairs this thing will go anywhere, but he is done with it.

and it was tons of fun. In fact my '74 was rougher than this one but I did a nice build (mild) to enjoy for a few years until it was time to move to something else. Parts are easy to come by for these Broncos and cheap (maybe in more ways than one) but this Bronco has potential. Now I can certainly get her on a he road again for maybe a grand or restore it with twenty but not sure I want to go back to a Bronco. Sure I can sell it but thought maybe I could post it here for someone looking for one of these that would want to trade. Of course please consider that I have owned 3 80s and will not take just anything but I am not asking for a $15k cruiser either.....Just something I can work with. If interested PM me, tell me what you got and we exchange details. Otherwise I think I'll toy with it a bit, dress her up and throw her in flea bay.
