Hey guys,
Not very active on the 70s board.. I drive a 96 80 series; mostly stock albeit an OME Stock Height and 33s.
I've always had a soft spot for the 70-series even though i rolled in one with my uncle off road back in the 90s
I found a brand new 2013 GRJ-71 @ the dealership which i've been seriously considering.. I do have my doubts and am a little worried about pulling the trigger.
All cars i own are somewhat impractical for our streets at least. My daily driver at this point is my 80 which i'm beginning considering retiring to preserve since its a very clean, two owner, factory painted truck with relatively low miles, and exotic options
.
What worries me about the 71 is stability especially off road, the tall body/ride height, narrow width, short wheelbase, and rear leaf sprung suspension seems like a recipe for disaster. I researched a lot with hardly any reviews on the trucks. The dealership wouldn't give me a test drive since the SWB hard top 70s are rare to come by and the demand is somewhat higher than the supply, so ultimately, they don't care for my business; especially at the price they gave me; which in itself made the deal so much sweeter.
I'd like some reviews from you pros on what you believe; looking at it from another direction, if i decide its not for me, i can probably unload it with hardly any loss but i'm worried i end up rolling it off-road - i'm that paranoid!
