Guys I am thinking of moving out of memphis and wanted to get a little info. My wife went to UofA and has lots of friends there. I have the ability to commute to work and we have been looking in AR. She wants fayetteville and I was looking more at little rock or somewhere closer to hot springs.

I know fayetteville is beautiful and has lots to do on dickson street. I was wanting to know about wheeling areas and other out door activities. I have been to the ozarks and buffalo national river and think it is some of the prettiest country in the US. Are these an easy drive to do on day trips from fayettville? How is the RLC club? Seems kind of dead on the message boards.

Do you guys have regular meetings or any day trip group events. My only experience has been one event at superlift in hot springs hosted by Cotton Land cruisers, and it was a great event.

I live in Springdale just north or Fayettville. Disney oklahoma is approx 60 miles from here. Disney has stuff for all skill levels and I think you can get all you want in a day. Cass area is approx 60 miles from here. Cass I have wheeled at the Byrds adventure center and there is stuff for all skill levels but is geared more towards harder stuff. I do not know the forest service roads well enough to just take off on one and know where I am coming out. I could probably do 1 or 2.I have never been to the southern missouri offroad ranch but I think its not much more than 100 miles from here. Hot Springs superlift offroad park is 200 miles. As far as the Razorback Landcruisers go I think that they are fixing to get it together. I spoke with the president (Mack) last night and he is picking a date for a meeting very soon.

Byrds was good. Spent more time on forest service roads. Mullberry river valley is really pretty. I still reside in memphis however wife wants to move to fayetteville. I prefer the Rock since it is closer to work, which will always be in memphis.

we have a lot of great places just within reach of fayettenam. 15 min. north and you have beaver lake. Weddington woods is perfect for some wheeling, lots of rock climbing(not rock crawling) and caving, have the buffalo region that is FULL of wonderful stuff to do outdoors, as well as the white river for fly fishing, the mulberry for wwkayaking... and the best part... you can get anywhere in the region on dirt roads!

I hunted all over white rock WMA during the 6 years i went to school in fayetteville. There are hundreds of places to roll thousands of miles between I-540 and HWY 23. Excellent turkey huntin back in the day.

I live in Fairfield Bay and people 'commute' to Memphis from here. We are 90 miles north of Little Rock but you don't have to go through there to get to Memphis.
Don't know what your wife does, and there are very few jobs in this area, but it is pretty here for sure. We are right on Greers Ferry Lake; arguably the best lake in Arkansas....or at least I think so. Very little boat traffic and world record fishing....literally.

I am the COO of the Property Owners Association and manage the entire city with the exception of the police so excuse my being a 'cheerleader'!

We have miles and miles of dirt roads that have no houses on them; some of them could be 'wheeled' for sure....not that I would officially encourage that! I plan to get my FJ40 (soon, I hope) and practice/just have fun on those roads.

Anyway, you should come visit. I'll post a pic from our deck sometime.....the lake and Sugarloaf mountain and a beautiful valley.

And, if I had to choose between Fayetteville and Little Rock....I would live in Maumelle. Have lived there before and it's great. Love Fayetteville too so it's a toss up except for your commute. I have to assume you won't do it daily, right?

Good luck!
