Think these HID are worth $40?

Possibly, but I would not use them in any housing other than what's designed specifically for HID's. If the price seems to good to be true....

did you do the 35 or 55 w? How hard was installation any additional wiring?

Matt

I went with the 35, 55 seems like overkill plus some people say its not that much difference.

No, I didn't need any extra connectors or plugs. Installation was very smooth. They come with nice weatherproof connectors.

You have 2 kits, one for high beams and one for low?

1 for the low, and 1 for my driving lights.

1) Do you have a lot of people flash you with you lows on?

2) Was everything plug and play? Or did you have to cut wires, or mod the Headlights?

Be careful, guys, don't trust a camera to tell you the difference between halogens and HIDs. Too many variables to trust the camera.

I've never been flashed but the cutoff isn't that great as expected(i have them set pretty low). But I don't have oem lights, I have depos.

Everything was plug in, you just gotta find a place for the ballasts.

Just installed my kit from DDM into my OEM lights and while they aren't as bright as lndcruz's are they are still a big improvement over the halogens.

My next step into my lights are to get some depos to make it even brighter.

great!

Keep in mind that my lights also include hella 4000 driving lights with hids.

Next up on my list of projects is to drop in the GM diesel but after that I am going to work on my front end and more lighting.

My front end gave a tree a little smooch last week so now I need a new front valance but won't replace it till I get my bumper made as well.

HID's are great BUT you do get what you paid for... I paid for $40 dollar HID and they lasted 3 months...

I only buy from RetroSolutions because you can get
1) a warranty
2) get a good set of ballast s
3) a decent set of bulbs
4) and a choice of 35watt or 55watt kits

heres a couple of links :

35watt slim HID kits:
$90 HID shipped! digital LIFETIME WARRANTY - Honda-Tech

55watt slim HID kits:
55w SLIM DIGITAL HID $151 shipped, Smallest Ballasts! - Honda-Tech

55watt regular ballast also BiXenon HID kits:

So for a 1997 landcruiser it states 9005 and 9006 so do you have to order both of them or can you just order one for the high or low beams?

Thanks

Matt

Just go for the 9006 low beams, I am sure running both high and low would generate too much heat and draw too much power.

I took out my high beams all together, eventually plan on adding some driving lights up front and when off roading I will have some on my roof rack.

where did you guys mount the ballasts?

also, i think i have a grounding problem on my cruiser. the voltage drops significantly when i use anything electrical. will an HID kit draw more and exacerbate the problem?
