so i have a customer that wants to run this stuff in his diesel land cruiser so i thought i would do some required reading...

to me it sounds like snake oil but then i come aross this blurp:

so i think to myself, "self, if you read this condoning of fraudulant practices would you trust the supplier?"

what do you boys think of this? is this just glorified bio diesel or do youthink this is a real meal deal?

You don't need anything special to substitute some products for diesel. Most people on not aware of "black diesel" and "green diesel". Not to be a repost just and update.

Black diesel - is a mix of used motor oil/gear oil and diesel fuel

Green diesel - is a mix of used fryer oil and diesel fuel


I currently run black diesel in my 86' BJ70, I have reused all of my waste oil and gear lube from my land Cruisers and Toyota Prius. I first filter the used oil with .5 micron filter then mix it with diesel fuel at a mix of 70/30 (70% is waste oil). The Crusier runs fine on it, no smoke or funny smells, it does have a little less power and does not get as good mileage but it is better to use the waste oil than dump it.

sensitive about warranties, no.
misleading statements to the general public, yes.

the idea that this person is recommending fraudulant statements is wrong. especially since you can get the oil tested and the remaining fuel in the lines tested which would result in rejection of the claim. this also raises the issue of doubt to the product he is trying to sell as to wether he is trustworthy or not.

I agree. When a vender tells you its ok to cheat just a little you wonder if he's willing to cheat you just a little too. The best way to get me *not* to bid on an ebay auction is to say you'll ship internationally "duty free" by declaring the sale as a 'gift'

You mean like putting a 'Land Cruiser' emblem on a mini truck and calling it a 'Light Duty Land Cruiser' instead of what it is... a hilux with a Land Cruiser emblem. No, I would never do anything as underhanded as that.
