Well It's not a factory warranty but a CarMax 90 day warranty so I wanna make sure I cover everything before it runs out
Some of this apply to anyone coming up on their factory warranty too
Mine is a 17LC200 with 108K miles

1) I went through all the "loose accessories" and CM replaced the missing ones
Brake controller wiring harness
Remote Control for rear entertainment
2 Wireless Headphones
2 Rear Screen covers
1 Cooler box white tray
Rear Cargo Net
(anything else?)

Some options and settings we don't use very often...

2) Test and run through all your traction control settings

3) If you haven't or don't run your entertainment screens in the back often check them too. One of my screens the LCD was burned in so CM looking into repairing it...a replacement unit from the dealer is anywhere from 4K to 8K!!!

4) I just learned about the recirculation problem and lo and behold there is no movement or any sound from the motor so I'll be reporting this one as well. Thanks John E.

Anything else?

Not that they would even know what to do if it broke, but KDSS.

lol @ entertainment screens.

Check your radiator for hairline crack unless previously replaced or have the newer design

you opened the filter door and saw no change when you toggle between recirc and fresh air?

is it stuck open or closed?

if you use one finger and barely barely try to move the accordion top, does it move (it shouldn’t).

Makes no noise when I cycle the button
Opened the door and the accordion was closed
Cycled the button again and no noise or movement
Was able to move the accordion with my hand easily. No resistance.

So that's a big one for the Carmax warranty, if they will cover it. I wonder how you can prove the door was broken when you bought it?

They’ve been extremely easy to work with this far.
The good thing is there is a check list you go thru where Carmax tells you everything is functioning or not. They checked off rear entertainment fully functioning so they totally took on the burned out screen. And hope they will do the same for the Hvac.

ok, so your linkage is broken or disconnected from the door.

Yeah I’m gonna poke around tomorrow and see if I can fix it. Could be easier then me explaining it to CM. But I’m gonna get it in there system too so it’s still well within the 90 day deadline.

Long time listener (lurker) / first time caller here. Hope to buy a mid mileage low teens 200 or 570 this Summer. I was trying to find a comprehensive "what to watch out for when purchasing a 200/570" thread, couldn't find one. Was thinking of starting one, and then this pops up yesterday. Thank you, this about sums up almost exactly what I was looking for. Essentially a cheat sheet that stands in for a good friend to say, oh hey, watch out for the x/y/z before you buy. Thanks again.

can also check:
-Belt pulleys
-Waterpump for leak (that's a hard one)
-Radiator that someone mentioned and fan clutch operation
-trunk gas shocks
-trim pieces around windshield
-gas door operation (the hinge rusts and brakes)
-battery age (although I'm not sure that would be covered)
-check that all lights work
