When I talk to people that don't know much about these trucks and how I'm not crazy for trading a 2 yr old Subaru for a 13 year old LC, I tell them the LC is the only vehicle I have seen were people are selling with 300K miles and still usable as a daily driver. This one blows my mind.
No refer to my post 4 posts down from those photos. I just happened to park next to it at my local shop and that guy works there and specializes in everything LC/LX. If you look at the first photo my trucks corner lense is just barely poking out on the left side of the photo. Wish it was my truck though! Regardless, not much had to be replaced. Much to the mechanics amazement and my own the engine was not hydrolocked so it started right up after a complete disassembly, cleaning, re-oiling, and reassembly. The only things it ruined were the factory amp under the pass. seat (which I was planning on doing a complete stereo overhaul anyway-I've thrown an Alpine amp in its place), and it also fried the ECU.
Just realized you are a fellow Arkansan! The shop is 4x4 Mud Connection at 6104 Young Rd, run by a nice guy named Charley. Taylor is the one with the part-time 4WD LC. Pull in their parking lot and all they got outside are LC's & LX's (maybe a heep here or there). I would recommend their shop for anyone in AR. If you are trying to avoid the dealership but find that mechanic who actually knows a thing or two about these trucks, take it to them. Bring your checkbook, you won't leave empty handed.where is this said shop?
I would be VERY interested in the outcome with the tear down of this truck. Wonder if it had the 4.7 or the 5.7 engine. Here's the 1 million mile Tundra, same engine and transmission.
Million-mile Toyota Tundra owner given brand new truck
The article states "117 dealership service visits over nine years, ranging from timing belt replacements, oil changes, and the manufacturer's regularly scheduled check-ups." If the comment about timing belt is accurate, then it is a 4.7L, correct?I would be VERY interested in the outcome with the tear down of this truck. Wonder if it had the 4.7 or the 5.7 engine.
I looked over on the Tundra forum and saw a few with 250,000 plus but that's not really high miles considering what several 4.7 engines have. I guess we can check back in with the guy from Houma, La and see what his has in a couple years, should be up to 400,000 plus.Nice find. I think we all agree the 2uz is built to last. If the 5.7 has a timing chain anyone have any reports of a extremely high mileage 5.7? Wonder how the 5.7 compares as far as durability.
