i prefer the monochromatic black look, but all uzj's that i've found have the grey trim except one. is it a repaint (on the bumpers and trim/flare pieces)? if so, they did a great job on the finish and match...

just curious...

I believe that you are correct, the 100 (LX/LC) was never produced in solid black, or at least here in the states. That is one of the reasons I went with a grey (Galactic Gray) on the LX. The two tone is close in match on the grey, but still noticeble up close.
On a related matter, this was the same case on the 3Gen Limited 4Runner. I hated the oak trim and had that painted black to match the rest of the truck.
 
thanks candido. yeah, i remember the 4runner well. it was one i drooled over for a couple years until i got mine and added the sahara and went to an all-red look.

man, they even painted the flares and running boards. very nice job.
 
yeah, it looks NICE. it would REALLY look even better in the driveway next to this:

This is sweet.When i got my bumpers painted my paint guy wanted me to do the molding too.Oh i so regret not doing it.:rolleyes: I see i project on it way.:D
